Dimitri Extra Virgin Olive Oil was founded in 2007 by Dimitrios Giannakos and Dimitrios Komninos In Baltimore MD. In 1897 Giannakos’ grandfather went out into the surrounding countryside to dig up small wild olive trees that had grown from seeds dropped by birds or blown by the wind. Dimitri took care of them until they were old enough to graft and then planted them on our farm so that they could grow into producing olive trees. These types of wild olive trees are known to produce the best quality olive oil to this day.
